UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL AUTÓNOMA DE MÉXICO

UNAM Chicago launches new website

March 4, 2024

In order to provide information in a more efficient way and to introduce tools to navigate, UNAM Chicago launched its new website: chicago.unam.mx chicago.unam.mx

After a process that took approximately six months, developed mainly by students of our Professional Practices (Prácticas profesionales) and Social Service programs, our new site seeks to facilitate access to the information and activities of UNAM Chicago and offer users adequate communication channels with the university.

The original design of the site is the work of the graduate online student of Graphic Design career, Francisco Mena, who is currently working on his Social Service at UNAM Chicago, the site was built digitally by Erick Acuña, a student of the career in Engineering in Telecommunications, Systems and Electronics at FES Cuautitlán-UNAM, and who is part of the PITAAE (Program for the promotion of the Degree for Academic Activities abroad).

Throughout the construction process, the academic secretary of UNAM Chicago, Erika Erdely, and the head of Communication Lourdes Durán and Aldo Mora, led and directed the team that continued the task of content design and migration of our former website.

Designers Cetura Ramos, head of the Design team at UNAM Chicago, and Daniela García, a student of Design and Visual Communication (School of Arts and Design) who carries out professional internships, as well as Melania Ávila, a Marketing student (School of Accounting), and also part of the PITAAE Program, took on the task of offering a new image, providing better functioning, accessibility and turning all visits to the new platform into a positive experience.

Taking into account that the processes of new technologies are a constant and with the great commitment to offer better tools for our community, UNAM Chicago will continue to feed and improve the recently launched site, always seeking to optimize its performance.
