With the conference Let’s Talk About Health: The Role of Emotions in Sexuality, UNAM Chicago, the UNAM School of Medicine, and the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago continued the series Let’s Talk About Health: Dialogues with UNAM Specialists, which brings the most important and current topics to the Mexican and Latino community—and to those who need it most—through the voices of experts. Gerardo Guerrero, Deputy Consul, thanked UNAM for its support in organizing these conferences. Alberto Foncerrada, from UNAM Chicago, explained that the goal of this joint effort is to provide access to scientific information and make it available to everyone, because knowledge and health go hand in hand.
This time, the speaker was psychologist Susana López Rosas, from the Comprehensive Sexual Health Program, who used accessible language to highlight the importance of emotions in sexuality, the psychosocial and cultural factors involved, and also explained some emotional regulation strategies.
