UNAM Chicago was present at the commemorative event for National Immigrant Heritage Day, led by the Mayor of the City of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, where the city's commitment to its most vulnerable communities was made clear. UNAM Chicago also accompanied the Mayor in the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of Chicago Sister Cities International, the city's business arm that oversees sister city partnerships. The City of Chicago and Mexico City have been sister cities since 1991.
