As part of its commitment to supporting Hispanic communities, UNAM Chicago has expanded its Spanish language programs to reach school staff across multiple districts in Illinois.
These programs aim to strengthen linguistic and cultural communication between educators, immigrant students, and their families—fostering a more inclusive and welcoming school environment.
In addition to its ongoing collaboration with Addison School District 4, new partnerships were established in the 2025–2026 school year with UPLIFT Community High School in Chicago, J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 in Cicero, Berwyn North School District 98, and Valley View School District 365 in Romeoville.
Thanks to these initiatives, more than 120 educators—including elementary and high school teachers, principals, social workers, and special education specialists—will benefit from the Spanish courses offered by UNAM Chicago.
Through these collaborations, UNAM Chicago strengthens its presence in the Midwest and helps more schools become better prepared to meet, in Spanish, the needs of immigrant students and their families.
