Spanish for Heritage Speakers

For professionals who learned Spanish at home in the United States (heritage speakers).

DESCRIPTION

The main objectives of the program are:

 

  • Preserve the Spanish as part of our cultural identity.
  • Develop speaking and writing skills in academic and professional contexts.
  • Integrate formal registers in written and oral expression and interaction.
  • Increase vocabulary, academic, and professional.
  • Strengthen the knowledge and usage of Spanish grammar.

Offered courses:

 

Spanish for heritage speakers I

Participants with minimal or no formal instruction in Spanish may enroll.

Spanish for heritage speakers II

Participants with formal instruction in Spanish may enroll.

Our program invites participants to reflect on the role of the language that we speak and the contexts in which we use (personal, social and professional). Therefore, special attention is given to the varieties of the Spanish language, including Spanish in the united States.

 

Participants integrate into the courses based on their experience with Spanish at home and formal instruction in this language.

FEES

A course of 45 hours for a group of up to 20 participants:

Fee: $5,400 USD

A course of 30 hours for a group of up to 20 participants:

Fee: $3,600 USD

A course of 20 hours for a group of up to 20 participants:

Fee: $2,400 USD

A course of 15 hours for a group of up to 20 participants:

Fee: $1,800 USD
